🔥 1. Σκάει ο τζίτζικας!
Literal translation: “The cicada is bursting!”
Used when it's really hot — even the poor cicadas can’t take it anymore!
☀️ 2. Ο ήλιος βαράει στο κεφάλι.
“The sun is hitting me on the head.”
A very Greek way to say that the sun is so strong, it feels like it’s physically attacking you!
🥴 3. Λιώνω απ’ τη ζέστη.
“I’m melting from the heat.”
A very common way to say it’s unbearably hot.
🌡️ 4. Έχει καύσωνα.
“There’s a heatwave.”
This is the actual Greek word for heatwave. It’s used for extreme heat.
🌞 5. Δεν παλεύεται η ζέστη!
“The heat is unbearable!”
Literally: “This heat can’t be fought.” A popular modern expression, often said with a sigh and a cold drink in hand.

“The place is boiling.”
